Entry number 1 (and thus begins our journey to the funny farm)

Welcome to our blog...where we share some of the crazy stuff we do.
Hi, I'm Pam...the Mother.
Hi, I'm Kate...the Daughter.
Together we manage to make the men-folk of the house shake their heads. Not always in a flattering way, either.  (What *will* they do next?)
We plan to use this blog to catalog our adventures so we can see how far we've come when we look back. If we survive.
So, now that we have whet your appetite...
err....
Now that we have piqued your interest...
err...
Now that we've made you curious...
err...
Now that we have you sitting at the edge of your seat...
(Pick one, we couldn't decide.)
Our first adventure:

Kate's birthday is this month. Naturally, she's planning her own party. Where did she get her ideas, you ask?  Why Pinterest, of course.
So...we made candy bark today.
First, we melted the chocolate. What could POSSIBLY go wrong there?
Nothing that a little Crisco couldn't fix.
The instructions say to pour the chocolate over the crushed cookies and pretzels.  Well, that sounds dumb. Wouldn't it be easier to put the stuff on top of the melted chocolate?  Oh well, here we go:

Oh wait, let me get a spatula.
You didn't think this through very well, did you?
Be quiet. It's only a small delay. It will be fine.

Okay, so how is this supposed to work?  Won't the stuff underneath just move around?

Why yes, it will. Try patting it.

Stop! You're smearing the orange!

Okay, now we sprinkle candy corn on top.
What's missing?
Sprinkles!
Put more sprinkles.
More.
Okay, stop.
Nevermind, put more.
It's done.

Tomorrow we will share the second bark (the chocolate mint) and will show you how they turned out.  You will also learn what pretzels do when you cut them and why the peanuts were not very salty.
